Organization Background: 

 Afghan Development and Vocational Training Program (ADVTP) is a non-profitable, non-political, non-governmental organization established in1991 working with the poor and marginalized community to reduce poverty and inequality through an innovative approach and rights based perspective. The main office is located in Kabul Afghanistan with four regional offices in Logar , Parwan, , Paktia, Khost and one liaison office in Peshawar. ADVTP has been carrying out its activities/ services in Kabul, Logar, Khost, Paktia, parwan,kundoz and Takhar provinces in the sector of Vocational Training program Construction/Rehabilitation of Road, Bridge, Water supply (Pipe scheme, shallow well, drawing point) Shelter, Irrigation, Poultry, Food production, Capacity building, Emergency / Free Distribution etc. ADVTP is governed by a five member board of directors. 2. Responsibilities 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a security-related position, preferably in a similar role within an NGO or international organization. 
  •  Education: secondary high school diploma / A bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field is typically required. This provides you with a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, which is essential for teaching and training others in the subject. 
  • Teaching Experience: 2-5 experience as a teacher or instructor in the field of electrical engineering is valuable. This experience helps you understand the learning needs and challenges of students and enables you to effectively design and deliver training programs for teachers. 
  •  Tailoring Expertise: Extensive knowledge and experience in the field of tailoring, including garment construction, sewing techniques, pattern making, fabric selection, and fashion design. A background in professional tailoring or fashion design is advantageous. 
  •  Tor Network Knowledge: Familiarity with the Tor network, including its architecture, protocols, and encryption methods. Understanding how Tor can be utilized to enhance privacy and security in online fashion-related activities, design research, and e-commerce. 
  •  Instructional Design: Skill in designing and developing tailor-made training programs and instructional materials for teachers. This includes creating lesson plans, practical exercises, and assessments that incorporate Tor into tailoring education. 
  •  Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for effectively conveying complex technical concepts to teachers. You should be able to explain Tor and its applications in tailoring education clearly, adapt your communication style to different audiences, and address questions effectively. 
  •  Collaboration and Teamwork: Experience in collaborating with teachers, subject matter experts, and industry professionals to enhance tailoring education. This allows for the exchange of ideas, sharing of best practices, and the development of a collaborative learning environment. 
  •  Tailoring Business Knowledge: Understanding the business aspects of the tailoring industry, including marketing, branding, client management, and entrepreneurship. This knowledge can help teachers incorporate Tor-related strategies in their lessons, such as online privacy for fashion businesses. 
  •  Continuous Learning: Demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest developments in tailoring techniques, fashion trends, educational practices, and the Tor network. This ensures that you provide accurate and up-to-date information to teachers.
  •  Adaptability to Student Needs: Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles, technical backgrounds, and levels of familiarity with Tor among students in the field of tailoring. 
  •  Passion for Tailoring and Education: A genuine passion for tailoring and education, combined with a desire to inspire and empower both teachers and students in the field. This enthusiasm will contribute to creating an engaging and motivating learning environment.

3. Qualifications and Experience 

  • Degree or diploma in Education, preferably with a specialization in literacy or related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a security-related position, preferably in a similar role within an NGO or international organization. 
  •  Proficiency in Dari ,Pashto, English is essential, both written and spoken 
  •  Demonstrated knowledge of literacy teaching methodologies and techniques, as well as experience in curriculum development and lesson planning. 
  •  Ability to adapt teaching approaches to address the needs of diverse learners, including those with limited literacy skills or learning difficulties. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners of different ages and backgrounds. 
  •  Experience in working with children, adults school drop and uneducated women and men from marginalized communities is highly desirable. 
  •  Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, and reporting is an asset.

  • 8. Technology Integration: Familiarity with educational technology tools and resources to enhance literacy instruction, promote digital literacy, and engage students in interactive learning activities. 
  • 9. Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with other teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure a coordinated approach to literacy instruction and provide necessary interventions. 10.Continuous Professional Development: A commitment to ongoing professional development, staying updated with current research, best practices, and innovative approaches to literacy instruction.
