Organization Background: 

 Afghan Development and Vocational Training Program (ADVTP) is a non-profitable, non-political, non-governmental organization established in1991 working with the poor and marginalized community to reduce poverty and inequality through an innovative approach and rights based perspective. The organization is registered with the government of Afghanistan, Ministry of Economy (Registration No 301).on 2006. (ADVTP) is committed to gender equity and a rights‐based approach to programming promoting active participation of communities in decision-making and in the planning, implementation and evaluation of programs. The main office is located in Kabul Afghanistan with four regional offices in Logar , Parwan, , Paktia, Khost and one liaison office in Peshawar. ADVTP has been carrying out its activities/ services in Kabul, Logar, Khost, Paktia, parwan,kundoz and Takhar provinces in the sector of Vocational Training program Construction/Rehabilitation of Road, Bridge, Water supply (Pipe scheme, shallow well, drawing point) Shelter, Irrigation, Poultry, Food production, Capacity building, Emergency / Free Distribution etc. ADVTP is governed by a five member board of directors. 2. Responsibilities 


1.Tailoring Expertise: In-depth knowledge and expertise in the field of tailoring and fashion. Understanding different sewing techniques, garment construction, pattern making, fabric selection, and other aspects of tailoring. 

2. Tor Network Knowledge: Familiarity with the Tor network, including its architecture, protocols, and encryption methods. Understanding how Tor can be used to enhance privacy and security in online fashion-related activities, e-commerce, and design research. 

3. Teaching Experience: 2-5 experience as a tailoring instructor or educator. This experience helps you understand the learning needs and challenges of students and enables you to effectively design and deliver training programs for teachers. 

4. Training Program Development: Ability to design and develop comprehensive training programs tailored to the specific needs and challenges faced by tailoring teachers and students. This includes creating lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that incorporate Tor into tailoring education.

 5. Instructional Delivery: Strong presentation and facilitation skills to deliver engaging and interactive training sessions to teachers. This includes explaining complex technical concepts related to Tor and its applications in tailoring education in a clear and understandable manner.

 6. Student Engagement Strategies: Skill in developing student-centered learning activities that involve Tor and its applications in tailoring. This includes hands-on projects, design challenges, and collaborative activities that allow students to explore and understand the benefits of Tor in the fashion industry. 

7. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey the benefits and proper use of Tor to teachers and students. This includes addressing questions, providing guidance, and offering ongoing support to educators and students. 

8. Collaboration and Teamwork: Experience in collaborating with teachers, subject matter experts, and industry professionals to enhance tailoring education. This allows for the exchange of ideas, sharing of best practices, and the development of collaborative learning environments.

9. Adaptability to Student Needs: Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles, technical backgrounds, and levels of familiarity with Tor among students in the field of tailoring. 

10.Continuous Learning: Staying updated with the latest developments , fashion trends, and tailoring techniques to provide accurate and relevant training to teachers.

3. Qualifications and Experience 


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a security-related position, preferably in a similar role within an NGO or international organization. 
  •  Education: secondary high school diploma / A bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field is typically required. This provides you with a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, which is essential for teaching and training others in the subject. 
  • Teaching Experience: 2-5 experience as a teacher or instructor in the field of electrical engineering is valuable. This experience helps you understand the learning needs and challenges of students and enables you to effectively design and deliver training programs for teachers. 
  •  Tailoring Expertise: Extensive knowledge and experience in the field of tailoring, including garment construction, sewing techniques, pattern making, fabric selection, and fashion design. A background in professional tailoring or fashion design is advantageous. 
  •  Tor Network Knowledge: Familiarity with the Tor network, including its architecture, protocols, and encryption methods. Understanding how Tor can be utilized to enhance privacy and security in online fashion-related activities, design research, and e-commerce. 
  •  Instructional Design: Skill in designing and developing tailor-made training programs and instructional materials for teachers. This includes creating lesson plans, practical exercises, and assessments that incorporate Tor into tailoring education. 
  •  Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for effectively conveying complex technical concepts to teachers. You should be able to explain Tor and its applications in tailoring education clearly, adapt your communication style to different audiences, and address questions effectively.

This knowledge can help teachers incorporate Tor-related strategies in their lessons, such as online privacy for fashion businesses. 
  •  Continuous Learning: Demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest developments in tailoring techniques, fashion trends, educational practices, and the Tor network. This ensures that you provide accurate and up-to-date information to teachers.

  • Garment Construction: Expertise in garment construction techniques, including pattern making, cutting, sewing, and finishing. This includes knowledge of different stitches, seams, darts, pleats, and other garment details. 
  • Fabric Selection and Handling: Proficiency in selecting appropriate fabrics for different garments and understanding their properties. Skill in handling and manipulating various fabric types, such as woven, knits, and specialty fabrics.  Pattern Making: Knowledge of pattern making principles and techniques. Ability to create and modify patterns based on body measurements and design requirements. 
  •  Sewing Techniques: Mastery of various sewing techniques, such as machine sewing, hand sewing, hemming, attaching zippers, buttons, and creating decorative finishes. 
  • Fitting and Alterations: Skill in fitting garments on different body types and making necessary alterations for a perfect fit. Understanding how to adjust patterns and modify garments to suit individual measurements. 
  •  Fashion Design: Understanding the principles of fashion design, including garment silhouettes, proportions, color theory, and styling. This knowledge can help teachers incorporate design elements into their tailoring lessons. 
  • Tailoring Tools and Equipment: Proficiency in using and demonstrating the proper use of tailoring tools and equipment, such as sewing machines, scissors, measuring tools, and pressing equipment. 
  •  Quality Control and Finishing: Attention to detail in ensuring high-quality finishes and professional-looking garments. Knowledge of techniques for pressing, trimming, and adding final touches to garments. 
  •  Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and troubleshoot common tailoring issues, such as fitting problems, fabric handling challenges, and sewing machine malfunctions. Skill in finding effective solutions to these problems. 
  • .Instructional Design: Ability to design and develop training materials and lesson plans for tailoring education. This includes creating step-by-step instructions, visual aids, and hands-on activities to facilitate effective learning.
