Organization Background: 

 Afghan Development and Vocational Training Program (ADVTP) is a non-profitable, non-political, non-governmental organization established in1991 working with the poor and marginalized community to reduce poverty and inequality through an innovative approach and rights based perspective. Transportation routes, Agriculture resources, Vocational Training and Educational programs. The main office is located in Kabul Afghanistan with four regional offices in Logar , Parwan, , Paktia, Khost and one liaison office in Peshawar. ADVTP has been carrying out its activities/ services in Kabul, Logar, Khost, Paktia, parwan,kundoz and Takhar provinces in the sector of Vocational Training program Construction/Rehabilitation of Road, Bridge, Water supply (Pipe scheme, shallow well, drawing point) Shelter, Irrigation, Poultry, Food production, Capacity building, Emergency / Free Distribution etc. ADVTP is governed by a five member board of directors. 2. Responsibilities 

  • Inventory management: Receive, inspect, and record incoming supplies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of deliveries. Maintain updated inventory records and track stock levels to avoid shortages or excesses. 
  •  Storage and organization: Properly store and arrange items in the warehouse or storage area, ensuring optimal space utilization and easy retrieval. Implement appropriate storage practices to prevent damage, loss, or theft. 
  •  Stock control and replenishment: Monitor stock levels of essential items, anticipate needs, and initiate timely procurement requests. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of supplies. 
  •  Quality control: Conduct regular checks to ensure the quality and condition of stored items. Report any damaged, expired, or substandard items to the appropriate personnel and follow established procedures for disposal or replacement. 
  •  Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records of stock movements, including receipts, issues, and returns. Prepare regular reports on inventory status, consumption patterns, and any relevant information for management. 
  • Compliance with procedures: Adhere to established procedures for receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, ensuring compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and relevant regulations. 
  •  Collaboration and coordination: Work closely with the logistics team, program staff, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient logistics support and coordination of supply needs. 
  •  Inventory audits: Assist in periodic inventory audits and support external audits as required, providing accurate data and documentation. 

3. Qualifications and Experience 

  •  High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Additional training or certification in security management or related field is an advantage. 
  •  Minimum of 3 years of experience in a security-related position, preferably in a similar role within an NGO or international organization
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles, including stock control, storage practices, and record-keeping. 
  •  Familiarity with procurement processes and procedures is advantageous. 
  •  Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation. 
  •  Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel or inventory management software. 
  •  Physical fitness and ability to handle and transport supplies, including lifting and moving heavy items. 
  •  Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
  •  Knowledge of local languages and familiarity with local market dynamics is desirable.

  • Inventory Management: Proficiency in managing inventory levels, including stock monitoring, forecasting, and replenishment, to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent stock outs or overstocking.

  • 4. Stock Control Systems: Familiarity with stock control systems and software to track inventory, generate reports, and facilitate efficient stock management. 
  • 5. Quality Control: Understanding of quality control procedures to inspect and ensure the quality and integrity of incoming and outgoing goods, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or defects. 
  • 6. Attention to Safety: Awareness of safety protocols and practices to maintain a safe working environment, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, colleagues, and other stakeholders, ensuring accurate stock orders, resolving issues, and coordinating deliveries. 
  • 8. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, address storage challenges, and find solutions to operational issues that may arise in the storekeeping process.
  •  9. Time Management: Skill in prioritizing tasks, managing multiple responsibilities, and meeting deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate handling of goods and fulfilling requests. 
  • 10.Physical Stamina: Physical fitness and stamina to handle manual tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving heavy boxes or equipment, as well as standing for extended periods. 
  • 11.Knowledge of Safety and Security: Understanding of safety and security measures to protect stored goods from theft, damage, or loss, and to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. 
  • 12. Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work in fast-paced environments, and handle unexpected situations or fluctuations in inventory demands.
